The Cowboys closed out their 2007 Season on a sad note this past weekend, losing their final home game to the Mesa State Mavericks 30-7. The Cowboys played tough throughout the contest, but just couldn't keep up with the 9-1 Mavericks.

The First Half was full of action as the Mavericks got on the board first with a 4 minute scoring drive to take the lead 7-0, they extended their lead the net drive to 10-0 with a FG. Then after a few 3 and out's by both teams, the Cowboys Special Teams came up huge by blocking a Mesa State punt deep in their own territory. Senior TE, Isaac Valladarez, blew past the MSC line and blocked the punt as Chris Wrighten recovered it. That opportunistic turnover set-up the lone TD of the day for the Cowboys as RB Randall Brown punched it in from 9 yards out for the score.

In the Second Half it was all Mesa State. The Mavericks ate up the clock with a powerful rushing attack, but the Cowboy "bend but not break" Defense was stingy enough to hold the Mavericks to 3 FG's and only 2 TD, the other TD scored my MSC came off a turnover by the Cowboys near their own endzone.

Offensive stand-outs for the Cowboys were: Randall Brown who had 10 carries for 58 yards with 1 TD for the game. WR Daniel White had 10 catches for 87 yards.

Defensively, Diego Urbina finished off with 11 tackles, 1 TFL for a 7 yard loss, and 2 sacks for another 7 yards lost. Carlos Alvarado had 9 tackles and 1 pass break-up.
Junior RB LaVaughn Macon had three spectacular KO Returns for 75 total yards.
