The NMHU Cowgirls came out guns a'blazing against the Lady Cougars of Colorado Christian and came out of that battle a winner. The Cowgirls had 27 shots on the day, 19 of which were on goal. The Cowgirls won 2-1 and are now 2-3 overall and 1-1 in  RMAC play.

Leaders for the Cowgirls were Lativa Harash who had 7 shots, 6 on goal, and 1 goal on the day. Lativa's goal came off a beautifully placed free kick right over the gloves of the CCU Goal Keeper, to seal the win for the Cowgirls. Jeanette Ortiz had 6 shots, 3 on goal, and 1 goal. Jeanette gave the Cowgirls the lead in the first half with her second goal in as many games . Other leaders include Monica Vasquez ( 6 shots, 5 on goal), and Corey Strickland (2 shots, 1 on goal, and 1 assist). Goalee McKaila Dorman had 3 saves and gave up one goal.

The Cowgirls looked like a different team playing with quickness and moving the ball up and down the field. Hopefully the Cowgirls can ride the wave of success this Sunday, 9/9,  as they travel to Colorado School of Mines to take on the Lady Ore Diggers @ 11:30 am
