The NMHU Cowgirls Soccer team took a huge blow when they travelled to Alamosa, Colo. to take on the Adams State College Grizzlies. After a hard fought match for first part of the first period, the Cowgirls would eventually fall to the Grizzlies by a final score of 3-0. The Cowgirls are now 2-13-0 overall and 2-8-0 in RMAC play. The Cowgirls will have to recover quickly as they hit the road to Colorado Springs, Colo. to take on the UCCS Mountain Lions on 10/16.

The Cowgirls and the Grizzlies played an even game until the 25:30 minutes mark when the Grizzlies took control of the game. The Cowgirls had a chance to score when Kimberly Hutchings was up for a penalty shot. Unfortunately, her kick hit the crossbar keeping the score for the Cowgirls at zero.

Lauren Waite started in the net for the Cowgirls and had four saves with two goals allowed for the first half. Shannon Delarosbil came in to relieve Waite and had two saves with one goal allowed.

The Cowgirls had 15 shots while the Grizzlies had 20. On a better note the Cowgirls had less fouls (12) than the Grizzlies (16) in what was a very physical game.

The Cowgirls are now 2-8-0 in RMAC play and will take on the UCCS Mountain Lions in Colorado Springs on 10/16 followed by a homestead of 4 games starting 10/18 at Perkins Stadium.
