Cowgirls Fall to Eagles 71-59

Gholston Pulls Down 12 Rebounds in Loss

The Cowgirls Basketball team travelled to Chadron, Neb. On 12/ 5 and despite their efforts they were overcome by the Eagles. The Cowgirls lost 71-59 in their second RMAC game of the season. The Cowgirls and Eagles were neck and neck until there was about three minutes left on the clock. The Eagles took charge of the board and never looked back. 

The leading scorer for the Cowgirls was Oliana Seanoa. She scored 17 points for the night, nine of which were from the three point line. Seanoa also added in a pair of steals and rebounds for the Cowgirls. She now has 67 points for the season, averaging 13.4 points per game.

Jessica Armijo followed suit with 16 points on the night, 10 of which were scored in the first half. After the first half the Eagles played closer to Armijo, not allowing her to make a connection with the basket. She also added in six rebounds and two steals for the Cowgirls. She now has 91 points on the season, averaging 18.2 points per game. 

Another outstanding performance came from Briana Gholston. Gholston lead the Cowgirls rebounding efforts with 12 against the Eagles. She now has 42 rebounds on the season, averaging 8.4 rebounds per game. 

The Cowgirls will now begin a four game homestead as they take on the University of Colorado- Colorado Springs Mountain Lions in, another RAMC game, 12/11 @ 6pm in the John A Wilson Complex.
