The NMHU Cowboys fell to the Thunderwolves of CSU-Pueblo by a final score of 66-0 on 10/30. The Cowboys would have a rough night as they had no answer for the Thunderwolves attack. The Cowboys will have to lick their wounds and get ready for their next opponent as they gear up for the battle for the “Warrior Helmet” against the Mustangs of Western New Mexico University on 11/6.

Offensively the Cowboys struggled. The Cowboys would only manage to gain 158 total yards (100 yards rushing and 58 yards passing). The Cowboys would also be penalized the most they have all season as they racked up 11 penalties for 127 yards. Herman Young would be the top producer for the Cowboys offense as he finished the night with 19 carries for 72 yards with a long run of 12 yards.

Defensively, the Cowboys didn't fare much better as they allowed 499 total yards by the Thunderwolves. The Thnuderwolves would finish the night with 331 yards rushing and 168 yards passing. CSU-Pueblo would finish the nigh with two rushers gaining over 100 yards each. The high tackler for the Cowboys was Tony Udley with 10 tackles on the night.

The Cowboys will have to have a short memory this week as they gear up for another tough RMAC opponent. The Cowboys will finally be at home for their final home game of the 2010 season as they take on the Mustangs of Western New Mexico as both teams battle for the “Warrior Helmet”. The Mustangs lead the series 2-1 after a 50-30 win last year over the Cowboys in Silver City, N.M.
