Cowgirls Fall in RMAC Opener

The Cowgirl Basketball team took on the Metro State Roadrunners on 12/3 at the John A. Wilson Complex. The Roadrunners came out on top with a final score of 68-51.

The Cowgirls battled with the Roadrunners throughout the entire game. At the half, the Cowgirls were down by a mere 10 points. With less than five minutes left, the Roadrunners were up by 17 and the Cowgirls weren't able to catch up them from that point on.

Leading not only the Cowgirls but both teams in scoring was Whitley Whitley Coca. She scored 17 points on the night and added in five defensive rebounds. Taylor Ealey led the Cowgirls' defense with six rebounds on the night. Senior Briana Gholston was 5-8 from the charity stripe.

The Cowgirls outshot the Roadrunners at the three point line with a 42.9% while the Roadrunners could only manage a 33.3% from the same line.

The Cowgirls are now 3-4 on the season and 0-1 in RMAC play. They look to balance that as they host the Regis University Rangers on 12/3 in the John A. Wilson Complex in beautiful Las Vegas, NM.
