The Cowgirl Soccer team took to the road for a match up against the Adams State Grizzlies on 9/22. The Cowgirls played in 45 degree weather battling the pouring rain the entire time. The Grizzlies came out on top with a final score of 1-0.
The Grizzlies scored in the 72nd minute of play as a Grizzly player dribbled past a Cowgirl to the right and the shot beat the goalie to the left. The Cowgirls weren't able to answer back but they took twice as many shots on goal compared to the Grizzlies.
Within the first two minutes of play, the Cowgirls had three shots, none of which connected. The Cowgirls had 22 shots while the Grizzlies had 11 shots on the day.
Julissa Rodriguez had nine of those shots for the Cowgirls.
Amanda Rose Johnson and
Shannon Delarosbil split time in the net with a save each and Delarosbil allowing one goal.
The Cowgirls are now 3-3-1 in RMAC play. They will take on the Rangers of Regis University on 9/26 in Perkins Stadium with kickoff at 1pm. Come out and support your Cowgirls who were recently ranked #7 (tied) in the Region!
