Box Score Las Vegas, NM-  New Mexico Highlands University Woman's Soccer team took on Colorado Mines for the second time this month. The Cowgirls honored seniors Ashlyn Bruin, Molly Enenbach, Victoria McNary  and Nicole Millar before the game. Unfortunately the Cowgirls lost 3-0 on senior day. Our the second loss of the season against #27 Colorado Mines.
Neither team could get on the board the first half. Although the Cowgirls managed 9 shots, but no one could get to the back of the net. Colorado Mines only managed 4 shots in the first half.
Second half the Orediggers increased their offensive pressure and had 15 shots and 3 goals in the second half. 56 minutes into the game, Colorado Mine's Brooke Stoermer scored a goal with an assist from Jaclyn Knott. Cowgirl Mallory Bostic got a shot in before Colorado's Peyton Sanders scored a great header on a pass from Emily Garnier. Just 3 minutes later Mel Westhoff took a shot from just over 20 yards from the goal.Â
The Cowgirls will be on the road the final 2 weeks of the regular season. The Cowgirls will take on Westminster next Friday at 4 p.m. Live stats will be available.
