Box Score Grand Junction, Colo.- The New Mexico Highlands University woman's soccer took on Colorado Mesa (3-6-2) on their way back home. This is the first time the Cowgirls played Colorado Mesa this season, unfortunately it ended in a loss 1-0.
Halfway into the first half
Larissa Romero had the first shot of the game but it was blocked by the Maverick goalie,
J. Richmond-Buccola. Romero had another shot in a few minutes later, but Colorado Mesa's J. Richmond-Buccola had a great save. That was the last shot for NMHU this half. Colorado got 7 shots but, none of the shots managed to see the goal.
Only two minutes into the second half Colorado Mesa's Sarah Pope made her second goal of the season with an assist from Ashley Wallace. The Cowgirls had three shots, but just couldn't see the back of the net. Colorado got 6 more shots in the game, but couldn't make it past goalie
