Goodwell, Okla.- Your New Mexico Highlands Women's Basketball team travels
to Oklahoma this weekend (Nov. 13-14) to play in the Heartland vs. Rocky Mountain Tournament.
Your Cowgirls will face University of Texas- Permian Basin on Friday Nov. 13 at 3 p.m. and Oklahoma Panhandle State University on Saturday Nov. 14 at 2 p.m.
UTPB Women's Basketball team went to the Heartland Conference Championship game last season and finished the season 16-12 with a 9-9 conference record. UTPB returns one player from last year's team, sophomore TeAnna Edman-Rowe.
Panhandle Women's Basketball team finished last season 3-25 with a 1-17 conference record. The Aggies are returning ten players from last season team, including star player senior Kiera Waters.
Players to watch for this weekend are NMHU Senior
Brittany Brown who had 11 points, went 3-4 from the arc, 3 defensive rebounds and 2 blocks against University of New Mexico Lobos on Nov. 7
th. Then for UTPB newcomer Junior Taito Niniva had 12 points, 5 defensive rebounds, went 1-6 from the arc and had 2 steal against the Sul Ross Lobos on Nov. 6. For Oklahoma Panhandle Senior Kiera Waters who averaged 12.4 points, 30% from the arc, total of 133 rebounds, 46 steals, and 6 blocks for last season.
