Cowboys Fall to Lumberjacks

Box Score Flagstaff, Ariz.- In just the second game of his head coaching career, Jeff Mills and the Cowboys traveled to Flagstaff to take on Division I opponent Northern Arizona. Unlike last week the Cowboys started off on defense. The Lumberjacks were not able to reap the benefit of the first possession as the Cowboys were able to get a quick 3 and out of the Lumberjacks. Unfortunately the Cowboys' offense was not able to capitalize on the great play of the defense, as they too were forced to a 3 and out.

The Lumberjack offense came out after the punt and on 8 plays and 74 yards the Lumberjacks scored on an 8 yard pass to Alex Holmes. After forcing another 3 and out, the Lumberjacks, got on the board again this time by a 38 yard field goal. The Cowboys were only able to get one first down in the first quarter. The Lumberjacks would score two more times in the first half to bring the score to 31-0 at the half.

The second half got better as the Cowboys were able to get on the board. The first drive of the 2nd half started off with a Cowboys with a 21 yard field goal by Luke Jones. The Luke Jones field goal were the only point of the 3rd quarter for either team.

The 4th quarter saw a 24 yard field goal by the Lumberjacks to put them up 41-3. The Cowboy were able to score one more time with the help of NAU.
