Cowgirls Back At Home

Las Vegas, N.M.- The New Mexico Highlands women's basketball are at home this weekend (Jan. 15-16) hosting RMAC foes Chadron State College and  Regis University. Your Cowgirls are going into RMAC play with an overall record of 2-11, RMAC 0-9.

The Cowgirls are led by senior Michelle Traynham, who is averaging 14.7 points per game. Traynham is not only finishing at the basket but is also knocking down shoots from behind the arc for your Cowgirls. Right now she is shooting 40.8% from the three point line and finishing in the field goal range at 38.9%. Also she is knocking down 65.5% of her free throws. Another Cowgirl that everyone should watch out for is sophomore Kylee Reibel, who in the last three conference games as been a big impact. A huge game for her was against Colorado State University- Pueblo at Pueblo, Reibel had 22 points and 5 rebounds. Right now Kylee Reibel is the third leading scorer, averaging 9.2 points per game, shooting 41% from the field goal and 82.9% from the golden line.

Your Cowgirls as a team are averaging 55.7 points per game, shooting 34% from the field, 31.5% from behind the arc, and 64.3% from the free throw line. They are grabbing 35.3 rebounds per game and averaging 9.8 assist a game.

On Jan. 15 at 5 pm Chardon State College Eagles will come into the John A. Wilson Complex with an overall record of 3-10, RMAC 3-6.  Two players to watch out for is Maka Daysh who is averaging 14 points a game, shooting 55.2% from the field goal and 64.1 % from the free throw line. Daysh is grabbing 7.9 rebounds per game and 66% come from the defensive side. The second player to watch is Emma Block who is averaging 10.9 points per game, shooting 40.8% from the field goal, 43.5% from behind the arc, and 75.7% from the free throw line.

Chadron State as a team is averaging 60.6 points per game, shooting 39.1% from the field, 27.7% from behind the arc, and 60.4% from the charity stripe. They are also grabbing 37.5 rebound per game and averaging about 12.1 assists per game.

Then on Jan. 16 at 5 pm Regis University will come into the John Wilson Complex with an overall record of 7-8, RMAC 5-4. The player to look out for is Caresse Williams who is averaging 11.7 points per game, shooting 42.4% from the field goal line, 29% from behind the arc, and knocking down 65% of her free throws. She is also grabbing 5.5 rebounds per game and 2.3 steals per game.

Regis as a team is averaging 62.5 per game, shooting 38.9% from the field goal line, 33,5% from the three point line, and 71.8% from the free throw line. The team is also grabbing 38.5 rebounds per game and averaging 11.3 assists per game.
