Box Score PUEBLO, Colo.- Your New Mexico Highland women's basketball were swept by #17 Colorado State University-Pueblo tonight in Pueblo, Colorado. The Cowgirls fell to an overall record 2-10, RMAC 0-8.
In the first quarter, the Cowgirls had a tough time in the first six minutes, but junior
Giulia Simioni got your Cowgirls going with a shot from behind the arc. Then a trey from senior
Michelle Traynham helped the Cowgirls catch up to the ThunderWovles. The Cowgirls went into the second quarter only down by four.
In the second quarter, the Cowgirls had a hard time finishing in the paint. The Cowgirls battled back with a triple from senior
Brittany Brown and an good ol' fashion three point play from sophomore
Michelle Tapia. The Cowgirls would go into the half down by 12, 41-29
In the third quarter, Simioni continued to knock down shots for the Cowgirls. With 4 minutes left sophomore
Kylee Reibel went to work and knocked down a jumper. After that Reibel went on a role with a lay-up and knocked down four straight free throws.
In the fourth quarter, Reibel would come out hot ready to help the Cowgirls by hitting a shot from behind the arc. Simioni and Traynham followed Reibel's lead and both hit triples in the quarter. Reibel ended up taking over the game. Unfortunately, the ThunderWolves came out on top.
