Cowgirls Hit the Road

The New Mexico Highlands Women's basketball team will take to the road this weekend. First, they will travel to Portales, NM to play the Eastern New Mexico University Greyhounds on November 22nd at 6:00 p.m. Then, they will head to Las Cruces, NM to take on the New Mexico State University Aggies on November 25th at 5:00 p.m. Your Cowgirls own a 1-1 overall record.
 
New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls: The Cowgirls will head into the road trip with confidence. They are coming off of a win against the Oklahoma State Pan Handle Aggies, in which Junior Shania Ratliff nailed the game winning shot to give them the 63-62 win. Ratliff finished the game with 14 total points. Sophomore Kaylani Maiava was a force for the Cowgirls as she racked up 13 point. She was also a terror in the paint as she came away with 3 blocks. Junior Mele Tupouata played a solid game as well. She finished with 9 points and 7 rebounds.
 
Eastern New Mexico University Greyhounds: The Grey Hounds come into this game off of a loss to Wayland Baptist, 49-63. Senior Kassandra Harris played well for the Grey Hounds as she was able to rack up 13 points and come away with 3 steals. Junior Daeshi McCants had her hands all over the game as she filled her stat line. She finished with 9 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Sophomore Brandi Gomez gives the Grey Hounds a deep threat as she nailed two 3 point shots.
 
New Mexico State University Aggies: The Aggies also come into this game fresh off of a game in which they lost to Hawaii, 53-56. They are led by Senior Tamera William. She led them in points with 11, and she also stole the ball 3 times. Senior Moriah Mack also played well for the Aggies as she came away with 10 points and 2 assists. Red Shirt Sophomore Tyesha Taylor was the third player for her team to score in double digits as she finished with 10 points.
