Cowgirls Tip-off RMAC play in Colorado

The New Mexico Highlands Women's Basketball team will travel to Colorado this week as they take on the Adams State University Grizzlies on December 2nd at 5:30 pm and  Fort Lewis College Sky Hawks on December 3rd at 5:30 p.m. The Cowgirls have a 1-2 overall record.
 
New Mexico Highlands University Cowgirls:
The Cowgirls are coming off of a tough loss to New Mexico State, but saw good things in Freshmen Ari Baca. Baca led the Cowgirls with 11 points in the game, including 7 in the second half. Sophomore Kaylani Maiava almost hit a double-double as she scored 8 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Sophomore Brianna Pribble pitched in 6 points and 3 steals for her team.
 
Adams State University Grizzlies:
The Grizzlies await the Cowgirls with a 1-3 record. They will rely heavily on Cydney McHenry as she leads her team in scoring and assists. She is averaging 9.5 points and 2.8 assists per game. Nicole Broyles-Mortensen leads the Grizzlies in steals with 7 on the season. Madison Merschel has been solid inside as she leads her team with 7 blocks on the year.
 
Fort Lewis College Sky Hawks:
The Cowgirls hope to put the first blemish on the Sky Hawks 4-0 record. The Sky Hawks have been led by Alyssa Yocky as she averages 13.3 points per game. She also averages 7 rebounds per game. Briana Clah is also a huge piece of their success as she is the Sky Hawks leader in assists with 4.8 per game. Kayla Herrera is their leading shot blocker and rebounder. She averages 8 rebounds per game, and she has 4 blocks on the season.
