Box Score LAS VEGAS, N.M- The Cowgirls fell short to the Lady Skyhawks of Fort Lewis College tonight at home. The final score of the match was 70-53.
The Cowgirls started the match strong, carrying the largest lead in the first half, the Skyhawks trailing by five points at the 0:43 mark. Leading scorer,
Giulia Simioni contributed 19 of the Cowgirls overall 53 points, as well as two rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Senior
Kristy Marquez added seven points for the Cowgirls, four rebounds, one block, one steal, and one assist.
Brittany Brown contributed six points and four rebounds. Senior guard
Miranda Martinez racked five total points and led the team in rebounds with six.
The Cowgirls ended the game with a FG% of 35.7 against the Skyhawks 47.6. The Cowgirls were able to outshoot them at the 3-point line, making 31.3% of their shots, though it was not enough stop the Skyhawks in the paint, where they scored 30 of their total points.
The Cowgirls will compete against the Adams State Grizzlies on Saturday evening at 5 p.m. in the John A. Wilson Complex. It is Senior Night for the Cowgirls! They will be honoring four seniors-
