Box Score SILVER CITY, N.M.- The Cowgirls fell short against the Mustangs in the last game of the season, the final score 58-48.

Kristy Marquez represented well in her last college match, logging a personal record high 17 rebounds. Marquez also added nine points to the board. Junior
Michelle Tapia also had nine points this evening. Leading scorer Guilia Simioni kept the team in the game, contributing 14 of the Cowgirls 58 points. Simioni also logged four assists and three defense of rebounds. Guard
Kylee Reibel chipped in six points.
The Cowgirls struggled coming out in the first half, only shooting 1-9 at the 3-point line. This made for a tough comeback in the second half, particularly with the Western offense, Mustangs' Christina Yepa scoring 21 of their total points alone. The Cowgirls stepped it up significantly in the second half of the game, increasing their shooting percentage by 13%, though it was too late to put a stop to the Mustangs. Both teams rebounded well, the Mustangs leading in the category by three with 52 for the match. The Cowgirls impressively let both teams in defense of rebounds with 37.
The Cowgirls will hang up their jerseys for the season. The Cowboy family would like to thank the Cowgirls for such an exciting season and to wish them luck in their preparation for next season. We look forward to seeing many more great things in the seasons to come!
