Cowgirls Come Home This Weekend

The New Mexico Highlands University Women's Basketball team will come home to play the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs Mountain Lions on January 13th at 5:00 p.m. and the Metropolitan State University-Denver Road Runners on January 14th at 5:00 p.m. Your Cowboys sit at 2-10 overall and 1-8 RMAC.
 
New Mexico Highlands University Cowgirls: The Cowgirls got good production out of Junior Kaelin Shaffer n their loss to the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology Hardrockers as she scored 14 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. They will need Shaffer to continue this solid play going forward. Freshmen Ari Baca played well as she scored 9 points and pulled down 6 boards. Sophomore Kaylani Maiava was also productive as she walked away with 11 points and 3 rebounds.
 
University of Colorado-Colorado Springs Mountain Lions: The Mountain Lions will go into the weekend with an 11-4 overall record. They are also riding a 5 game winning streak, fueled by Brittany Hernandez. Hernandez is the leading scorer and rebounder for her team. She scores 16.2 points per game, and grabs 7.7 rebounds per game. Tori Fisher has also had a hand in their success as she pitches in 12.1 points per game and is 2nd on the team with 7.5 rebounds per game. Jen Vigil is leading the Mountain Lions with 3.4 assists per game.
 
Metropolitan State University-Denver Road Runners: The Road Runners come to Las Vegas with a 9-7 overall record, and they have won 2 of their last 5 games. Georgia Ohrdorf has been productive for her team as she is the leading scorer and rebounder. She is averaging 13.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. J'Nae Squires-Horton is the second leading scorer for the Road Runners as she averages 13.3 points per game. She leads the team with 26 made 3's this season.
