Cowgirls Head on the Road to Take on the Orediggers

The New Mexico Highlands University Women's Basketball team will square off against  Colorado School of Mines Ore Diggers on January 17th at 6:00 p.m. Your Cowgirls sit at 2-12 overall and 1-10 RMAC.
 
New Mexico Highlands University Cowgirls: The Cowgirls are coming into this matchup off of a loss, but they did see some encouraging signs. Their offense saw some improvements as they were able to score 70 points against the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs Mountain Lions. All five of their starters scored in double digits. Sophomore Kaylani Maiava and Freshmen Juliana Gurule led the way with 16 apiece. Junior Kaelin Shaffer scored 10 points and pulled down 6 rebounds.
 
Colorado School of Mines Ore Diggers: The Ore Diggers come into this matchup struggling as of late. They are 2-4 in their last 6 games, resulting in a 10-10 overall record. Emily Bailey has been the leading scorer for her team this year as she averages over 12 points per game. She is assisted by Elizabeth Tomon, who is second on the team in scoring with 10.9 points per game. She is also the leading rebounder as she pulls down 5.8 rebounds per game.
