Cowgirls Take On Cougars

The New Mexico Highlands University Women's Basketball team heads home to take on  Colorado Christian University Cougars  on January 21st at 5:00 p.m. Your Cowgirls are now 2-13 overall and 1-11 RMAC.
 
New Mexico Highlands University Cowgirls: The Cowgirls are coming in off of a loss to the Colorado School of Mines Ore Diggers, 44-63.  Sophomore Kaylani Maiava once again had a solid performance as she scored 19 points to lead her team. She also crashed the boards and she led the Cowgirls with 8 rebounds. Junior Kaelin Shaffer has been playing well as she scored 12 points and brought down 6 rebounds. Sophomore Ida Valencia played solid as she recorded 7 points and 3 rebounds.
 
Colorado Christian University Cougars: The Cougars  come into this game on a two game losing streak, sitting at 7-10 overall. Alex Nelson is leading the charge for her team as she averages 13.6 points per game, as well as 6.8 rebounds per game. Kaitlyn Hinch is pitching in 11.1 points per game. She is also tied for the team lead in assists, averaging 2.9 assists per game. Claire Paxton is a force for the Cougars as she scores 10.4 points per game. She is also tough inside as she leads the team with 14 blocks on the season,
