Las Vegas, NM - The New Mexico Highlands University Women's Soccer team-- aka "Road Warriors"--are back on the bus today for an evening match-up with the Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M in Canyon, Texas.
With the HU field undergoing renovation, the Cowgirls have had to move home contests to off campus sites in Taos and Bernalillo. Today's game was originally scheduled for Las Vegas.
The Cowgirls are 0-1 on the year after a 3-1 loss to Southern Nazarene in Taos, N.M., on Monday. The Cowgirls scored a late goal from
Breanna Fatten after SNU had stretched out to a 3-0 lead. WTAMU comes into the game 2-0 after weekend shutouts over Adams State and Fort Lewis.
WTAMU leads the all-time series with the Cowgirls, 14-2-1, after a 3-1 win last season. Prior the win last season for the Lady Buffs, NMHU won the matchup in 2014 in Las Vegas, N.M., 2-0 and tied 0-0 in Canyon in 2013.Â
Game time is 5:30 PM at The Pitch on the WTAMU campus.
GO COWGIRLS!
