Las Vegas, NM - For one game and one game only, the HU women's soccer team will play a "home" match at the Bernalillo Soccer Complex located near the Santa Ana Star Casino on Sunday, Sept. 10th. The team, along with Highlands Athletics, is calling on all HU fans and alumni to come out and support the Cowgirls as they take on the Belles of Angelo State.
Field renovations at Perkins Stadium on the NMHU campus have forced the Cowgirls to relocate home games to Taos and, for this game only, Bernalillo. The HU women are 0-1-1 after battling to a tough draw with West Texas A&M Thursday night and head coach Oscar Mendoza is looking for a big crowd to help the squad put one in the win column Sunday.
"We know there are a lot of alumni in the Albuquerque area, " said Mendoza, "We'd love to have everyone come out on Sunday, be loud, and give us a real home-field advantage."
Game time is 11AM on field #8 at the soccer complex located off Hwy 550 just west of Bernalillo.
