LAS VEGAS, N.M. ---Â One team's recent struggles will come to an end Saturday afternoon in Spearfish, South Dakota, as the New Mexico Highlands football team looks to break it's four-game skid as it takes on winless Black Hills State at Lyle Hare Stadium.Â

THE COWBOYS COMING INTO THIS WEEK (2-4, 2-3) | SEASON STATSÂ | RANKINGS SUMMARY
The Cowboys are coming off playing a nationally ranked team for the second time in three weeks, falling at No. 15 CSU-Pueblo 48-3 last weekend in Pueblo, Colorado. NMHUÂ was within striking distance at the half at 13-3 (had a 3-0 lead after an opening drive that took the Cowboys down the the ThunderWolves' 4-yard line), but was outscored 35-0 in the second half.
The Cowboys were held to its lowest rushing total of the season at 97 yards against CSU-Pueblo, but are still averaging 185 rushing yards per game.
Dione Alston continues to lead NMHU in rushing with 558 yards while
Kamari Mosby has 177 yards.
Quarterback
Danny Cameron is completing 51.5 percent of his passes on the season for 1,170 yards, 11 touchdowns and six interceptions.
D.J. McFadden leads the team with 26 receptions, 358 yards and three touchdowns while
Devon Henderson has 20 catches for 311 yards and two scores.
Eli Schoettmer leads the team with 49 tackles while
Malik Brown is one behind him with 48 and
Cameron Forziati has 42. Forziati also leads the team with 3.5 sackes while Brown and
T.J. Jackson each have three interceptions to lead the Cowboys.
ABOUT BLACK HILLS STATE (0-6, 0-6) | SEASON STATS
The Yellow Jackets enter the game having lost nine games in a row overall, though they've lost a pair of close contests this season in falling at Adams State 44-41 on Sept. 15 and 41-38 at home against Dixie State on Sept. 29. Last week on the road the Yellow Jackets lost to in-state foe South Dakota School of Mines 62-14
BHSU is averaging 358.3 yards per game while allowing 502.0. The Yellow Jackets rely primarily on throwing the ball, averaging 253.3 yards per game.Â
The Yellow Jackets have had three quarterbacks see time with Ryan Hommel leading the way with 906 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions. He's also the team's leading rusher with 214 yards and two more scores - all in just four games. Tyler Hammons has seen time at quarterback (381 yards, five touchdowns) as has Collin Powers (233 yards, one touchdown).
Outside of Hommel on the ground, Payten Gilmore has 157 yards and two touchdowns and Jack Walbye has 105 yards and three scores. BHSU's top receiver is Eriq Swiftwater with 30 catches for 316 yards and four scores while four other receivers have 200-plus yards and at least one touchdown receiving.
Defensively, Austin Goddard leads BHSU with 59 tackles to go along with 1.5 sacks (tied for the team lead). Josh Gurnaby has 44 tackles while Drew Hebel has 33 tackles adn a team-best two interceptions.

Since Black Hills State joined the RMACÂ in 2012, the Cowboys are 2-4 against the Yellow Jackets. NMHU's last victory against BHSUÂ was a 40-31 victory in Las Vegas in 2015 while the Cowboys last won on the road against the Yellow Jackets in 2012 - a 46-31 victory.
