LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands women's basketball team fell to first-place Colorado Mesa 79-50 on Friday night at Wilson Complex.

The Cowgirls (3-12 overall, 1-7 RMAC) Trailed 31-18 in the second quarter, but used a three-point play from Brianna Stewart at the 2:50 mark to go on a 8-0 run to cut the Maverick (11-1, 8-0) advantage to five points with a minute left in the half.
