LAS VEGAS, N.M. ---Â The New Mexico Highlands women's basketball team hits the road this week and travels to take on Chadron State on Friday and MSU Denver on Saturday.
THE COWGIRLS COMING INTO THIS WEEK | SEASON STATS
The Cowgirls dropped a pair of games last week, falling to Colorado Mesa on Friday (79-50) and Western Colorado (69-51).
Allyah George paced NMHU in those two games, averaging 15.5 points per game.
Jordyn Lewis continues to lead the team in scoring at 14.2 points per game while averaging 3.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals. She also has a team-high 37 3-pointers. George improved her scoring to 10.6 points per game to go along with 6.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game.
DeAvion Allen leads the team in rebounding (6.3), assists (1.7) and steals (1.7) to go along with averaging 7.1 points.
ABOUT CHADRON STATE |Â SEASON STATS
The Eagles lost both games last week on the road at Westminster (82-46) and at Dixie State (87-52) after winning their first two conference games of the season the week before at home against Adams State (67-57) and Fort Lewis (66-65).
Taryn Foxen leads Chadron State in scoring at 12.8 points per game and steals at 1.3 while she's second on the team at 2.2 assists per contest. Angelique Gall is second on the team at 8.9 points per game while Jessica Harvey is third at 8.8 points per contest.
The Eagles don't let fly from 3-point range too often and are last in the RMAC at 2.5 3-pointers made per game with no player with more than 10 3-pointers on the season.
ABOUT MSU DENVER |Â SEASON STATS
The Roadrunners dropped both games on the road last week, falling to Dixie State (62-55) on Friday and at Westminster (73-71) on Saturday.
MSU Denver has a pair of prolific scorers in Jaelynn Smith (16.7) and Emily Hartegan (14.5) with Hartegan leading the team in rebounds (8.5) and Smith leading the team in steals (1.8), assists (5.4) along with being second in rebounding (6.9). Jonalyn Wittwer is third on the team in scoring at 8.0 per game with 33 of her 39 field goals this season coming from behind the arc.
