LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands women's basketball team is back from break and opens 2019 on the road when the Cowgirls travel to take on Regis and Colorado Christian this weekend.

THE COWGIRLS COMING INTO THIS WEEK | SEASON STATS
The Cowgirls heading into the holiday break dropped a pair of road games in Utah, falling to Dixie State 70-59 on Dec. 14 and to Westminster 69-57 on Dec. 15. Jordyn Lewis averaged 16.5 points per game during the road trip while Allyah George averaged 12.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest.

Lewis is seventh in the RMAC in scoring at 15.8 points per game and is fourth in the 3-pointers made per game at 2.6 (her 31 total 3-pointers is second in the RMAC). She also leads the RMAC in minutes per game at 35.3. George is second on the team in scoring (10.0), rebounding (6.0) and steals (1.3). Brianna Stewart is third on teh team in scoring at 8.0 while DeAvion Allen is fourth at 7.0 while leading the team in rebounding (6.8), assists (2.0) and steals (1.6).

As a team, the Cowgirls are averaging 55.2 points per game while allowing 69.8. NMHU is shooting 36.1 percent from the field and 29.2 percent from 3-point range.

ABOUT REGIS | SEASON STATS
The Rangers have won two of their last three contests heading into the break, but ended 2018 with a 65-60 loss on the road against Colorado School of Mines (the wins were over UC Colorado Springs and Chadron State).

Majestie Robinson leads the team in scoring at 12.9 points per game and has hit a team-best 17 3-pointers on the season. She also leads the team with 14 steals. Jaz'Myne Snipes is second on the team in scoring at 10.5 points per game despite not starting any of the Rangers' 10 games this season. Shelby Espinosa leads the team and the RMAC in rebounding at 9.2 rebounds per contest.

As a team, Regis is 11th in the RMAC in scorign at 60.8 points per game while allowing 58.7 points per contest - fifth in the conference. 

ABOUT COLORADO CHRISTIAN | SEASON STATS
The Cougars dropped their final two games heading into the break - both on the road. CCU fell to Colorado School of Mines 71-36 on Dec. 15 and UC Colorado Springs 74-53 on Dec. 16. 

Jordan Baer leads CCU and is second in the RMAC in scoring aty 19.5 points per game. She's also ninth in the conference in rebounding (7.0), fourth in field goal percentage (55.6), 13th in steals (1.6) and sixth in blocked shots (1.2). She's also fourth in the conference in minutes played per game (34.9). Sarah McGinley is also averaging double figures at 11.8 points per game and leads the team with 24 3-pointers (shooting 42.1 percent from beyond the arc).

As a team, the Cougars are averaging 66.8 points per game (sixth in the RMAC) while allowing 69.5 points per game (14th in the RMAC).
