LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands women's basketball team looks to build off of a split weekend on the road last week as they hit the road to South Dakota to take on Black Hills State on Friday and South Dakota School of Mines on Saturday.

THE COWGIRLS COMING INTO THIS WEEK | SEASON STATS
The Cowgirls went on the road last weekend and picked up a win at Chadron State 58-56 on Friday before falling at MSU Denver 81-41 on Saturday. In the win Friday, the Cowgirls outscored Chadron State 14-2 in the third quarter to turn a 36-30 deficit into a 44-38 lead and held off the Eagles late - highlighted by a Kish Chandler steal in the final seconds - to pick the victory. Jordyn Lewis led the Cowgirls with 19 points while Allyah George added 15 points.

Lewis continues to lead the team in scoring at 14.1 points per game (eighth in the RMAC) while also leading the team in 3-pointers made (43) and free throws made (51) and percentage (86.4 percent). George is second on the team in scoring at 10.8 points per game while averaging 5.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 steals. Brianna Stewart is averaging 7.7 points while DeAvion Allen is averaging 7.6 points along with 6.2 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.7 steals.

ABOUT BLACK HILLS STATE | SEASON STATS
The Yellow Jackets split a pair of games on the road last week, defeating UC Colorado Springs 62-58 on Friday - snapping a three-game losing streak - and falling at Colorado School of Mines 67-55 on Saturday.

BHSU is sixth in the RMAC in scoring at 65.9 points per game while it's eighth in points allowed at 61.5 points per contest. The Yellow Jackets are third in the RMAC in 3-point percentage (35.7 percent) and assists (14.1).

Morgan Ham (6-1) leads the Yellow Jackets in scoring (14.3 - sixth in the RMAC) and is second on the team in rebounding at 5.1 rebounds per contest. Julia Seamans (5-6) is second on the team in scoring at 10.7 points per contest while leading the team in assists (3.6), steals (1.4) and 3-pointers made (37).

ABOUT SOUTH DAKOTA MINES | SEASON STATS
The Hardrockers dropped both games last weekend, falling at Colorado School of Mines on Friday (78-56) and at UC Colorado Springs on Saturday(57-45). South Dakota Mines has lost five of their last six games with their only win coming at home to Colorado Christian on Jan. 12.

The Hardrockers are 13th in the RMAC in scoring at 58.1 points per game while allowing 59.6 points per contest - fifth in the conference.

Taylor Molstad (5-10) leads the Hardrockers in scoring (10.4) and assists (2.3) while she's also averaging 1.2 steals. Sam Steffeck (5-10) is averaging 9.6 points and has hit a team-best 34 3-pointers. Anna Haugen (5-11) leads the team at 7.8 rebounds per contest while also averaging 7.8 points.
