DENVER, Colo. --- The New Mexico Highlands women's basketball team fell to Regis 87-38 on Friday afternoon at the Regis Fieldhouse.
 
The Cowgirls fell behind 20-6 in the first quarter and trailed 45-11 at the half. The Cowgirls were cold to start the game, shooting 4-for-20 from the field in the first half and finished the game shooting 25 percent from the field (11-for-44). Also 22 NMHU turnovers led to 26 points off of turnovers for Regis.
 
DeAvion Allen paced the Cowgirls with 12 points and six rebounds while 
Jordyn Lewis had nine points and three steals and 
Brianna Stewart had seven points.
 
The Cowgirls return to action 5 p.m. Saturday as they take on Colorado Christian in Lakewood, Colorado.
