Las Vegas, NM --- The New Mexico Highlands Women's basketball team host's Dixie State on Friday night at 5 pm and Westminster College on Saturday night at 5 pm, both games at Wilson Complex in Las Vegas, NM.

NMHU Athletics has teamed up with The National Guard for a Toy Drive on Saturday's game. One toy will get one person in to the game for free and NMHU Athletics is also hosting a meet and greet for the community. Come out and meet your 2019-2020 NMHU Cowgirls after the game with autographs, schedules, and more!

ABOUT DIXIE STATE: The Trailblazers are coming off their first conference win against Black Hills State last weekend. On the season, the Trailblazers average 72 points while shooting 42% from the field and 34.1% from three. The Trailblazers also average 42 rebounds, 14 assists and 14.4 turnover per game. Ali Franks leads the way offensively for the Trailblazers as she averages 14.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and is shooting 48% from three. Madi Loftus (9.7 points, 3.4 rebounds) and Chesney Stevens (7 rebounds, 7.1 points) will also look to aid the Trailblazers on Friday night.

ABOUT WESTMINSTER: The Griffins are undefeated in conference play thus far as they were picked 2nd in the preseason coaches polls. On the season, the Griffins average 69.2 points per game while giving up an average of 61.3. The Griffins have shot 46.5% from the field which includes 37.4% from three and also average 35.4 rebounds and 15.4 assists per game. The Griffins are led by Mariah Martin as she averages 17 points and 4 rebounds per game and has also tallied a team high 41 assists on the season. Also a threat for the Griffins is Hunter Krebs (14.9 points, 4.4 rebounds), Sarah McGinley (7.9 rebounds, 13.7 points), and Kaitlin Toluono (7.7 rebounds, 10 points).

ABOUT THE COWGIRLS: The Cowgirls are searching for their first conference win of the season as they average 58.9 points per game while shooting 35% from the field and 31.3% from three. The Cowgirls also average 32 rebounds and 11.3 assists per contest.
Jordyn Lewis continues to be an offensive threat for the Cowgirls as she is ranked first in the conference averaging 21 points per game. Lewis also averages 3.4 rebounds and is shooting 41% from three.
Ashley Antone (11 points, 6 rebounds),
Maiah Rivas (9.1 points), and
Desiree Forster (7.9 points, 3.4 rebounds) will all look to aid the Cowgirls in their first conference win. Â
