Against Chadron:
The Cowgirls showed a balanced effort as they came up just 7 points short of beating Chadron State College. Despite not having their leading scorer, Jordyn Lewis (17.5ppg), the Cowgirls were able to find the offensive spark in Kaitlyn Holl. Holl had all 18 of her points in the first half, and finished the night with an impressive stat line of 18 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists & 1 steal.
 Throughout the game there were 8 lead changes, the Cowgirls converted 12 points off of the Eagle's 16 turnovers, while only turning the ball over 8 times themselves. Chadron state had a good shooting night at 55%, while the Cowgirls shot 35% from the field.
 With 5:36 left in the 4th quarter the Cowgirls rallied back from an 13 point deficit to get within 6 points, but ultimately fell short.
 Maiah Rivas finished the night with 18 points, and 2 steals. Desiree Forster added 12 points, and 3 assists for the night. Faith Flores added 7 rebounds and 1 assist.
Against Metro:Â
The Cowgirls got off to a rough start on Saturday night as MSU-Denver ended the 1st quarter with a lead of 11 points, and they kept the lead for the remainder of the game. The Cowgirls struggled without two of their leading scorers, Jordyn Lewis (17.5ppg) and Ashley Antone (11.8ppg).
Highlands had a good offensive 3rd quarter, as they had their largest scoring quarter with 18 points, but couldn't gain enough momentum to bridge the gap against the Roadrunners. Cowgirls ended with a final score of 43-77.
Rivas lead the way offensively with 14 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Kaitlyn ended the night with 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 steal.
Highlands Women's Basketball returns to Wilson Complex next week as they take on Black Hills State University on Friday January 24th, and South Dakota School of Mines & Technology on Saturday January, 25th at 5:00pm.
