LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands women's soccer team dropped its season finale to Adams State, 2-0, on Wednesday at Old Memorial Middle School.
The contest was scoreless through the first half before ASU (2-12-2 overall, 1-9-2 RMAC) scored in the 51st minute to make it 1-0. The Grizzlies added another goal against NMHU (1-13, 1-11) in the 78th minute to make the final 2-0.
The Cowgirls outshot the Grizzlies 21-12 - but could never find the back of the net.
Kiarra Hovis led NMHU with eight shots while
Izabella Arballo and
Valeria Baca took three apiece.
Katie Scott played 80 minutes and picked up nine saves while
Karina Vega played the other 10 minutes and had one save.
