LAS VEGAS, N.M. ---Â The New Mexico Highlands women's basketball team returns to action as it hosts CSU Pueblo on Friday and Adams State on Saturday at Wilson Complex.
It will be the second meeting against these two teams with NMHU falling at CSU Pueblo 68-55 on Dec. 4 and losing at Adams State 80-43 on Dec. 3.
COWGIRLS HEADING INTO THE WEEK | 2021-22 STATISTICS
The Cowgirls nearly rallied from a 25-point deficit, but fell just short at home to Westminster College 69-64 on Dec. 31 in their last game since contests against Colorado Mesa and Colorado School of Mines due to COVID-19 precautions.
Jordyn Lewis paced NMHU with 23 points - going 4-for-5 from 3-point range - while
Desiree Forster added 16 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
Lewis continues to lead the team in scoring at 13.3 points per game to go along with 3.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steals. She also has hit a team-high 25 3-pointers.
Sana'a Baker is second on the team in scoring at 9.4 points per game and rebounding at 4.5 rebounds per game while leading the team in blocks at 1.2 per contest.
Maiah Rivas is averaging 7.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and a team-best 1.8 steals.

The ThunderWolves are coming off a 63-60 win over South Dakota Mines on Saturday with Ro Dominguez leading the team with 14 points (going 4-for-7 from 3-point range) while JaNaiya Davis had 12 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Alisha Davis leads the team in scoring (15.2), rebounds (8.0) and blocks (1.8). JaNaiya Davis is averaging 10.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.3 steals, Dominguez is averaging 9.9 points and 3.7 rebounds, Amaya Lewis is averaging 8.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.5 steals, Jazzy Hughes is averaging 8.7 pounds and 5.2 rebounds and Tomia Johnson is averaging 8.4 points and 2.3 steals.
CSU Pueblo defensive is 17th in scoring defense (53.8) and 15th in defensive field goal percentage (33.8).

The Grizzlies haven't played since falling to CSU Pueblo 86-26 on Jan. 4, being outscored 25-0 in the fourth quarter - their fourth loss in their fifth contest.
