NMHU loses lead in fourth, falls to South Dakota Mines

LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands women's basketball team led by two points heading into the fourth quarter, but fellt to a suddenly hot shooting South Dakota Mines 71-54 Saturday at Wilson Complex

The Cowgirls finish the season 6-22 overall, 3-19 in RMAC play. The six wins in a season is the most for the program since the 2014-15 season.

On Saturday, NMHU held a 44-42 lead going into the fourth quarter before being outscored 29-10 in the fourth quarter behind the Hardrockers going 5-for-6 from 3-point range and 11-for-16 from the field overall (they were 4-for-22 from 3 before the fourth quarter and 14-for-55 from the field).

Jordyn Lewis in her final game led the team in scoring with 15 points - finishing her career with 1,113 points. Sana'a Baker had 11 points and six rebounds while Maiah Rivas has 10 points, four rebounds and four assists.
