Las Vegas, New Mexico - The New Mexico Highlands soccer team returns home this weekend for matches against Black Hills State and Regis. Both matches will be played at Sanchez Family Stadium.
On Friday afternoon, the Cowgirls host Black Hills State University in a 3:00 pm match. The Yellowjackets come to Las Vegas with an overall record of 3-6-0 overall and 1-3-0 in RMAC play. Friday's match is the seventh all time between the two schools with the Cowgirls holding a 4-2 edge in the previous meetings. NMHU knocked off Black Hills State 1-0 last October in Las Vegas.
Sunday afternoon the Regis Rangers will be at Sanchez Family Stadium for a 1:00 pm tilt. The Rangers are 7-3-0 overall and 3-1-0 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action. The Rangers were among the teams receiving votes in this week's United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Top 25 poll. Sunday's match marks the 20th all-time meeting between the two teams with Regis holding a 16-3 edge in the series. The Rangers will play Adams State University on Friday before heading to Las Vegas.
