Las Vegas, New Mexico - The New Mexico Highlands women's basketball closes out calendar year 2023 on Sunday afternoon, traveling to Colorado for a 12:00 pm tilt against CSU-Pueblo. This is a non-conference game that was originally scheduled to be played on November 17th.
CSU-Pueblo is 6-6 overall and 2-3 in conference action. The ThunderWolves are led by junior Alisha Little who averages 18.1 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. As a team, CSU-Pueblo averages 64.8 points per outing while allowing 65.0 points per game.
NMHU enters Sunday's contest at 3-8 overall and 2-4 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action.
Juliana Aragon leads the Cowgirls at 13.8 points per game.
Aja Scott is averaging 7.1 rebounds to pace NMHU.
Sunday marks the first of two games in Pueblo for the Cowgirls this season. The two teams will play an RMAC game on January 16th. CSU-Pueblo leads the all-timer series 25-4. The Cowgirls won the last meeting between the two teams 54-51 last January in Las Vegas.
The Cowgirls return to action next weekend when they travel to Westminster and Colorado Mesa.
