The New Mexico Highlands soccer team plays its second match of the 2023 season on Saturday afternoon in Lubbock, Texas. Match time at Lubbock Christian University is set for 12:00 pm (MT).
Saturday marks the second consecutive road match at a Lone Star Conference foe as the Cowgirls dropped a 2-1 decision on Wednesday evening in Portales to Eastern New Mexico.
Katy Rayner tallied the goal for NMHU on Wednesday in the 85th minute.
Lubbock Christian comes into Saturday's match with a record of 1-1-1 on the season. The Lady Chaps beat Regis 3-2 on Wednesday evening in Denver to notch win number one on the year.
Lubbock Christian and New Mexico Highlands have met on two previous occasions with the Lady Chaps holding a 2-0 series lead.
New Mexico Highlands will play its next two matches on the road after Saturday's contest in Lubbock. The Cowgirls are at Northwest Oklahoma State on Thursday afternoon and then they play at Southern Nazarene one week from today.
