Las Vegas, New Mexico - The New Mexico Highlands women's basketball team is on the road for the first time in 2024 as they play at CSU-Pueblo on Tuesday at 5:30 pm. This is the second meeting of the year between the two teams in Pueblo as ThunderWolves defeated the Cowgirls on New Year's Eve in a non-conference game.
CSU-Pueblo enters Tuesday's game with an overall record of 9-8 overall and a 4-5 mark in the RMAC. The ThunderWolves are led by junior Alisha Little who averages 18.6 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. As a team, CSU-Pueblo averages 64.9 points per outing while allowing 64.1 points per game.
The Cowgirls are 4-12 overall and 3-7 in the conference.
Juliana Aragon is the team leader in scoring (11.3 per game) and assists (3.2 per game) and
Aja Scott averages 6.4 rebounds per outing.
Neysa Munguia is currently second in the RMAC with 1.5 blocks per game. As a team, NMHU is third in the RMAC in field goal defense holding teams to .372.
Tuesday's game in Pueblo marks the first of three consecutive conference games away from Las Vegas for the Cowgirls. On Saturday they are at Western Colorado for a 3:00 pm contest. The next home game for NMHU is on February 2nd UCCS visits the Wilson Complex.
