Las Vegas, New Mexico - The New Mexico Highlands women's basketball team will be in Gunnison on Saturday afternoon for a 3:00 pm contest with Western Colorado.
Western Colorado enters Saturday's game with an overall record of 2-12 and a conference record of 0-9. The Mountaineers have two players scoring in double figures, Rachel Cockman at 16.6 points per game and Jayda Maves who averages 11.9 per outing. The Cowgirls won the only meeting last season 54-49 in Las Vegas in mid January.
The Cowgirls record stands at 4-13 overall and 3-8 in the RMAC.
Juliana Aragon is the team leader in scoring (11.7 per game) and assists (3.4 per game) and
Aja Scott averages 6.2 rebounds per outing.
Neysa Munguia is currently second in the RMAC with 1.5 blocks per game. As a team, NMHU is fourth in the RMAC in field goal defense holding teams to 38% from the floor.
After Saturday's game in Gunnison, the Cowgirls will next be in action on Friday as they travel to Black Hills State for a 5:00 pm game. The next home game for NMHU is on February 2nd when UCCS visits the Wilson Complex.
