Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowgirls return home for a single match this week, playing MSU-Denver on Friday afternoon at 2:00 pm. Last week NMHU played a pair of road matches, losing at Black Hills State on Friday night and Regis on Sunday afternoon. The Cowgirls are now 2-8-2 overall and 0-5-1 in the RMAC.
EVANS TIME:
Amanda Evans was named the NMHU head coach on March 14th of this year and she earned her first win at the helm of the Cowgirls on September 5th 1-0 over Sul Ross State. Prior to coming to Las Vegas Evans was the head coach at Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, Virginia. She has 47 career coaching victories in her tenure at the collegiate level.
LAST WEEK: The Cowgirls dropped a 5-0 decision at Black Hills State on Friday night before losing 3-2 on Sunday at Regis.
Kate Rayner scored twice for the Cowgirls in the match against the Rangers.
"We've shown we can do good things, but our play was inconsistent on Friday," said Coach
Amanda Evans. "Sunday we bounced back and played a really good game. It didn't end up going our way, but it easily could have."
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION: MSU-Denver visits Las Vegas for the Cowgirl's only match of the week on Friday at 2:00 pm. The Roadrunners enter play on Friday with an overall record of 6-2-4 and a 5-1-0 mark in the RMAC. They were among the teams Receiving Votes in this week's United Soccer Coaches' Division II Poll. Head Coach Kat Mertz is in her fourth season at the helm of the Roadrunners where she has a 35-18-16 record.

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING: After her two goal performance on Sunday, junior
Kate Rayner is sixth in the RMAC with four goals scored in 12 matches played thi sseason. She is alo third in the conference with 15 shots on goal.
RMAC NETWORK: All of the remaining NMHU Soccer matches will be broadcast on the RMAC Network. Once again this season, Cowgirls' home matches will be called by New Mexico Broadcaster of the Year Scott Galetti.
