Soccer Plays Final Road Matches Of The Season

Las Vegas, New Mexico - NMHU Soccer plays its final two road matches beginning with a Halloween contest against UCCS at 6:00 pm. On Sunday, they are at CSU-Pueblo for a 2:30 pm match. The Cowgirls enter play Friday with an overall record of 2-11-2 and an 0-8-1 mark in conference play.

EVANS TIME: Amanda Evans was named the NMHU head coach on March 14th of this year and she earned her first win at the helm of the Cowgirls on September 5th 1-0 over Sul Ross State. Prior to coming to Las Vegas Evans was the head coach at Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, Virginia. She has 47 career coaching victories in her tenure at the collegiate level.

LAST WEEK: The Cowgirls dropped a pair of home matches last week losing to nationally ranked Colorado School of MInes 2-0 on Friday and Colorado Christian 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION: UCCS is 6-7-2 overall and 4-5-0 in the RMAC this season. The Mountain Lions split their matches last week losing 1-0 at Colorado Mesa before beating Westminster 2-1 in Salt Lake City on Sunday. Veteran RMAC coach JB Belzer is in his fifth season at UCCS where he has a record of 62-21-9.

CSU-Pueblo enters weekend play at 3-9-3 overall and 2-6-1 in the conference. They host Adams State on Thursday night. The ThunderWolves lost at Westminster 1-0 and Colorado Mesa 3-2 in their matches last weekend. John Constable is in his first season leading the women's soccer program at CSU-Pueblo.

RMAC NETWORK: All of the remaining NMHU Soccer matches will be broadcast on the RMAC Network. Once again this season, Cowgirls' home matches will be called by New Mexico Broadcaster of the Year Scott Galetti.
