Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowgirls return to action on Wednesday evening hosting Northern New Mexico at 5:30 pm as NMHU celebrates Indigenous People and Native American Heritage month.
The Cowgirls enter play at 2-1 overall after beating visiting University of the Southwest 71-56 on Monday evening behind a 20 point, five assist performance from
Juliana Aragon.
NMHU and Northern New Mexico split their two meetings last season with the Cowgirls winning 62-52 in Las Vegas. Two weeks later the Eagles handed NMHU a 62-57 setback in Española.
Through three games junior
Juliana Aragon is averaging 15.7 points and 5.7 assists per outing. Freshman
Kapiolani Anitielu is also in double figures in scoring at 12.0 points per game.
Eva Ongoongotau and
Caitlin Turnbow lead the Cowgirls in rebounding at 5.3 per game.
