Albuquerque, New Mexico - The New Mexico Highlands soccer team closed out the 2024 campaign with a 5-2 loss to Adams State on Wednesday afternoon at the University of New Mexico Soccer Complex. The game was moved to Albuquerque due to weather concerns in Las Vegas.
"We want the University of New Mexico Administration for allowing us to play today's match on their field," said NMHU Director of Athletics Shanna Halalilo.
The two teams played back and forth in the opening 45 minutes with the only scoring coming when Adams State converted a penalty kick at the 28 minute mark.
Despite the cold and wet conditions, the two teams played wide open soccer in the second half of the match as they combined for six total goals.
