Cowgirls Home For Games Against UCCS And Regis

Las Vegas, New Mexico - The New Mexico Highlands women's basketball team returns to the Wilson Complex this weekend after playing their last three games on the road to host UCCS and Regis this weekend. Tip time is 5:00 pm for both contests.

UCCS comes to Las Vegas on Friday with an overall record of 13-7 and 10-4 in conference play. Junior Maison White leads the Mountain Lions in scoring and rebounding at 13.6 points and 9.1 rebounds per game.UCCS is averaging 68.7 points per game and allowing 60.6 per game. Friday's game marks the 53rd meeting all time between the two schools with the series dead-locked at 26-26.

Entering play this weekend, Regis has won nine consecutive games and has a record of 16-3 overall and 11-2 in the RMAC. The Rangers have three players scoring in double figures led by junior Athena Saragoza at 15.6 per game. Regis averages 74.7 points per game while allowing 62.2 per contest. Regis will play at CSU-Pueblo Friday before heading to Las Vegas on Saturday.

The Cowgirls enter play on Friday at 4-15 overall and 3-10 in the conference. Sophomore Juliana Aragon leads the way at 12.1 points and 3.3 assists per game. Neysa Munguia is third in the RMAC at 1.4 blocks per game. As a team NMHU limits its opponents to 38.5% shooting from the floor.

After this weekend's games. The Cowgirls return to action next Friday when Adams State visits the Wilson Complex for a 5:00 pm contest.
