Las Vegas, New Mexico - In a very loaded weekend of sports in Las Vegas, the Cowgirls' basketball team has a pair of in-conference matchups. With UCCS on Thursday at 5 PM and Saturday against CSU Pueblo at Noon.

COACH FEARING:
Coach Fearing enters her second year as the head coach of the Cowgirls. Last season, Coach reached the RMAC Tournament with a 13-13 record before falling to Colorado Mesa in the first round on the road. It was the first time in 20 years that a Cowgirls basketball team had reached the postseason. Coach Fearings' Cowgirls sit one game below .500 at 7-8Â overall this season.

The first quarter of today's contest was a shooting battle, with the Eagles getting a few more baskets than the Cowgirls, taking a 5-point lead at the end of the first, 20-15. However, the second quarter was all Cowgirls as they scored 21 points in the second quarter, with five Cowgirls getting a bucket to take the lead into the half.
2nd Half: CSC 43-54 - NMHU 52-74
The Cowgirls' offense did not stop there as they continued to shoot the roof off the building, scoring on what seemed to be every possession, with three Cowgirls scoring in double digits. However, down inside the paint was where the Cowgirls did most of their damage, scoring 42 of their 74 points, with half of those points coming there.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION:
UCCS:
UCCS will be the first team the Cowgilrs will face in the home stretch this weekend.The reigning RMAC Tournament Champions currently have a 10-6 overall record and are 6-2 in RMAC play. UCCS has faced five ranked teams this season including a win over at the time third ranked Lubbock Christian this season.Misty Wilson is entering her third season with the program in 2025-26. In her second year at UCCS, Wilson led the Mountain Lions to the 2025 RMAC Tournament Championship title and a berth to the NCAA Tournament, marking the first NCAA postseason appearance since 2016-17.

CSU Pueblo:Â
The Thunderwolves will be the team that will travel to Historic Las Vegas next and they will face Adams State in Alamosa before traveling to face the Cowgirls. CSU Pueblo sits at a 9-7 overall and 5-3 in the RMAC. Tommie Johnson is in his seventh season as the Head Women's Basketball Coach at CSU Pueblo. The Pueblo native returned to CSU Pueblo in 2019 after a stints at DU and New Mexico Junior College.
