Bryndan McCoy, a Clermont, Florida native, made a name for himself at Lake Minneola High School, where he led the state of Florida in catches (80), yards (1,144), and touchdowns (16) during his senior year. His athletic journey continued at New Mexico Military Institute during the 2016-17 season under Head Coach Joe Forchtner. At NMMI, he was mentored by Coach Kurt, Coach Thatcher, and Coach Rod, and his impressive performance earned him the Art Foley Memorial Award, recognizing him as the top student-athlete.
McCoy went on to attend Valdosta State University from 2018 to 2020, where he contributed to the team’s national championship victory and Gulf South Conference titles in 2018 and 2019. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Mass Media before pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Management from Tusculum University.
His coaching career began as a Graduate Assistant at Tusculum University in the 2023 season, where he served as the assistant wide receivers and running backs coach. During his time at Tusculum, he played a key role in developing an all-conference wide receiver and helped secure the Mountain Division Championship in the PSAC Conference.
McCoy has since reunited with his former NMMI coaches when Coach Kurt took on the Head Coach position at New Mexico Highlands University. As the Wide Receivers Coach for NMHU, McCoy continues to channel his passion for the sport and his extensive experience into coaching the next generation of athletes.
