Chase Holbrook

Holbrook enters his first season with the Cowboys football program. A former New Mexico State quarterback and McMurry University assistant coach, Holbrook will serve as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Cowboys.
 
Holbrook played for the Aggies from 2005-08, starting his final three seasons. He still holds the school career records for completions (1,087), attempts (1,567), completion percentage (69.4) and touchdowns (85). His 11,846 passing yards is the 26th-most in Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS, formerly NCAA Division I-A) history and is more than 4,000 better than the previous New Mexico State record holder.
 
Holbrook also holds numerous single season records, including completion percentage (70.2, 2007), touchdowns (34, 2006), and passing yards (4,619, 2006). He reached 300 yards passing in 10-of-12 games in 2006. In 36 career games, he hit the 300-yard plateau in a game 24 times.
 
Holbrook finished his collegiate playing career with a passing efficiency of 145.5, which ranks second in Aggie football history.
 
Following his playing career, Holbrook joined McMurry football as the running backs coach prior to the 2009 season, In his five seasons with the War Hawks, he has also spent time as the quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator. In his first season as quarterbacks coach in 2011, the War Hawks led Division III with 346 yards per game. As offensive coordinator in 2013, McMurry finished seventh in the nation in yards per game (523) and 24th in scoring (38.5 points per game).
 
With the War Harks, Holbrook mentored numerous student-athletes who were recognized on both the conference and national level. In his first season as running backs coach in 2009, he coached true freshman Austin Brook to Second Team All-Southwest Conference. Under his tutelage, Jake Mullin was named a Division III All-American by Beyond Sports Network (BSN) as well as the American Southwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2011. In 2012, Mullin was named All-National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association (NCCAA) and MVP of the C.H.A.M.P.S. Heart of Texas Bowl.
 
For the 2013 season with the War Hawks, Holbrook was responsible for the offensive game plan, script and play calling. Gabe Rodriguez as a quarterback and Greg Livingston as a wide receiver received Second Team All-NCCAA honors.
