Known around Highlands and throughout the RMAC  simply and as “Coach Joe”, Quintana has been a fixture with the HU program since the early 90’s. Born in Pueblo, CO, Quintana graduated from New Mexico Highlands University with a degree in Special Education and currently works with the West Las Vegas Schools in addition to his part-time duties with the HU cross country and track programs.

“Coach Joe has been with me since the beginning,” says head coach Bob DeVries, “He has a lot to do with any success we have enjoyed. He is our jack-of-all trades and has a great deal of practical knowledge and experience.”
