Nelvin Wilson

Nelvin Wilson is entering his first season as Assistant Head Coach under Justin Wagar at New Mexico Highlands University. A native of Farmington, New Mexico, Wilson comes to NMHU with impressive playing credentials.

Wilson finished his collegiate playing career at Utah Valley University (2002-2004) where he captained his team to 3 consecutive berths in the NIRSA Club National Tournament and a second place finish nationally in 2003. He was named to the All-American team that year as well. Wilson originally began his collegiate soccer career as a freshman at national soccer powerhouse, Yavapai College, located in Prescott, Arizona. While at Yavapai, Wilson saw plenty of playing time and success as a true freshman. The Roughriders finished the season as Arizona Conference Champions, Region 1 Champions, West District Champions and NJCAA National Runner-ups in 2005.

Born and raised in Farmington, New Mexico, Wilson competed for Farmington High School from 1991-1995. He was a 3-time All-District and All-State selection for the Scorpions, as well as District 1-4A Player of the Year in 1995. He led the State of New Mexico in scoring as a senior and was selected to play in the New Mexico High School All-star game.

In 2003, Wilson was a member of the USL D-3 Arizona Sahuaros and Utah Blitzz.

Wilson also served an LDS Church mission to Little Rock, Arkansas from August 1996 to August 1998. He graduated from Utah Valley University with an Associates Degree in Business Management in April 2004. When he has time to relax, he enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, going to various sporting events and exercising.
