Allen Michel enters his second year as an assistant coach at New Mexico Highlands University after a great career as a Cowboy Wrestler. Michel has coached four regional placers and four NWCA Academic All-Americans.  

Michel’s career as an athlete for the Cowboys ended with major accolades in the sport of wrestling. Allen was a national qualifier and finished 8^th for the Cowboys at the NCAA DII national wrestling championships at 174 pounds. He was also awarded the Elite 90 award, the most prestigious award for academics given by the NCAA. He was a four time NWCA Academic All-American. 

Allen resides in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
