LAS VEGAS, N.M. – The Las Vegas, New Mexico, area Subway® restaurants and Manger Regina Denardo is pleased to announce that soccer sophomore Anyssa Dagnino is named the Subway Eat Fresh Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday (Nov. 3).
 
Dagnino scored both goals on the week for Highlands to help the Cowgirls clinch a home game in the quarterfinals of the upcoming Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Tournament on Wednesday (Nov. 5). Against UC-Colorado Springs Friday (Oct. 31), she received a pass from freshman Mallory Bostic in the box and scored in the 67th minute to net her fifth game-winning goal of the season. She also scored the lone goal on Sunday (Nov. 2) against Regis off a saved shot from Bostic.
 
Dagnino finished the season with 10 goals and was the 2014 RMAC scoring champion. Her five game-winning goals also led the conference for the 2014 season.
 
The fourth-seeded Cowgirls take on fifth-seeded Fort Lewis in the quarterfinals of the RMAC Women's Soccer Tournament. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
 
New for the 2014-2015 school year, a Subway® Student-Athlete of the Week will be chosen every week for the athletic year. Every student-athlete chosen for the weekly award will be eligible to win the Subway Eat Fresh® Student-Athlete of the Year award following the 2014-2015 academic year. While the weekly award will be based on athletic prowess, the yearly award will be bestowed upon an athlete based on success not only on the playing field, but also in the classroom and community involvement.
